Cards/gifts for male teachers

I have 2 subject teachers who have been a massive support for me during SF and I really want to get them something as a thank you before I leave.

1) I'm stuck on what to write in the cards. I don't want to be too sappy bc they're both male teachers so it feels a bit weird getting emotional but I'm very grateful for their help and they've always made lessons fun even when a levels sucked so id like to get that across in a lighthearted way I guess?? Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could put this? I'm not the best with words lol

2) What kinds of small gifts would be good for male teachers? I don't want to splurge obviously but I'd like to get them something to show my appreciation but idk what would be appropriate. Chocolates seems a bit basic but I have no idea what else I could get.

I'd appreciate any suggestions/advice.

Hi @AA881

What a lovely idea! They sound just as lucky to have you as a student.

I used to worry about this a bit too, but I would say there's nothing better than being yourself! These teachers clearly value you for being yourself and your hard work, therefore being honest about how they've helped you will be positively received. Perhaps you could include a funny moment if you had any during your studies or a joke (I sometimes do that as it can make the reader laugh).

However, genuinely it is the gesture that counts, most teachers will just be delighted they helped you and won't mind if you have written an essay or just a line in a card for them.

I understand where you are coming from with gifts as teachers can end up with lots of chocolate at the end of the year (although you can never have too much chocolate in my books), but what about a pen, or a silly pair of 'Best Teacher' socks, flowers, a book, or a game if that's affordable? Or if you know their favourite snack perhaps that?

I hope that helps a little!

Best of luck with the next chapter after Sixth Form!
