How close is too close to A level content for EPQ?

I take A-level English lit and part of my course is the study of tragedy. If I wanted to write a play in the form of tragedy for my EPQ, would that be too close to my A level content?

Honestly they don't care as long as a) it's only a relatively small point in the EPQ and / or b) it's only a relatively small point in your subject syllabus. I did my EPQ on disruptive protests and whether it is justified. I take psychology which includes Maslow's hierarchy of needs in part of it but I used it as a basis of justification, but Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a very small point on the psychology a level spec. I don't take English lit so I don't know how big of a theme tragedy is but I didn't get penalised for including that. Hope this context helps you decide whether or not it's appropriate in your case, and don't be afraid to consult your supervisor!
