Student loan quiery

My Mom got married 2 weeks ago but doesn't live with her partner yet. It's asking me for her partner's details on my student finance forms but he will not be financially supporting me this year. My brother also submitted the form before their wedding and now i'm worried i'll get less loan then him and less loan then I recieved in the previous years of my studies. Is there an option for me to fill out the form without my Moms partner filling out as he's not one of my sponsors and nothing from the previous years of my studies is changing as my household income hasn't changed so I dont see why I should get less loan now just because my Mom is married. I'm worried I won't be able to continue with my course as my Mom can't afford to financially support me and on the last 2 years i've been very dependant on getting the full loan. I also should'nt be getting less loan then my brother.

Hi Emily,

If you are under 25 and don't have 3 years of self support to the very start of your course then we assess you based on the household income. If your mum's husband is living with you then we would require him to support the application as well. Even if you're not living with him or financially dependant. This is due to regulations on funding being assessed based on the full household income. Thanks, Jason
