Please can someone help

What percentage needed for 2.1 law degree at university of law for 2025? I have scored 60.84% on my degree calculator but not sure if this is a 2.1. The calculator suggests it is a 2.1 but i have read conflicting information.

At all institutions I am familiar with, 60%+ is an upper second class. If you are still unsure, Google your university name along with 'degree classification' and it should come up with a link explaining what percentages are needed.

Hi,

Anything above a 60% is a 2:1. In some cases, percentages like this are rounded up which in your case would round you up to a 61% so I wouldn't worry too much about the conflicting information you read. I suggest contacting your university for further clarification but it is definitely a 2:1.

Best of luck!

For the University of Law the standard degree classification cut-offs are:
First-class honours (1st): 70% and above
Upper second-class honours (2:1): 60–69.9%
Lower second-class honours (2:2): 50–59.9%
Third-class honours (3rd): 40–49.9%
(https://www.law.ac.uk/resources/blog/how-to-get-a-first-class-degree/)

With your mark of 60.84%, you're clearly above the 60% threshold, firmly placing you in the 2:1 category as officially the cut-off is exactly 60% for a 2:1, which the uni-calcualtor also appears to agree with. 😄

But if you're feeling unsure, I highly recommend emailing your academic coach, which can be found under 'key contacts' on the Elite App, or '[email protected]'

Hope this helps,
Wishing you the best,
Your fellow Ulaw student.
