Hi
@Israel Jones,
As other commenters have said, there are lots of amazing nursing courses in the UK, and many universities have links to local teaching hospitals and community care, so I'm sure you'll benefit from lots of hands-on experience during your placements wherever you choose. But I wanted to say that choosing a nursing course is such a big decision, and will also depend on factors like what type of nursing you'd like to go into, and where you see yourself based for three years while you study.
At Southampton, we're ranked 1st in the UK for Midwifery (Guardian University Guide, 2025), 3rd in the UK for Nursing (QS World Rankings, 2025), and our courses are all accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Students study in our incredible nursing hub on Highfield Campus, which is where you'll carry out your practical skills sessions. The building has simulation hospital wards as well. And we're well connected in Hampshire and beyond, with nursing students carrying out placements at hospitals and clinics, including at University Hospital Southampton. You can find out about our courses and explore stats and student stories here:
Nursing, midwifery and healthcare | University of Southampton95% of our students work in a skilled profession or further study after completing their degree (*latest The Graduate Outcomes Survey, which surveys student outcomes 15 months after graduating). Which is awesome!
I hope your search for your perfect course goes well! 🤗
