Honestly I've never really thought about it - any laptop that works XD. Not a fan of the Chromebook though, anything that can't do word/PowerPoint is not for me.

In what areas do you find Google's absolutely free cloud based office suite like Docs and Sheets sufficiently hamstrung compared to Office that you rule Chromebooks out?

Good question. Quite frankly, it's probably because I'm just so used to using Microsoft word and PowerPoint that I find it hard to adjust to a new UI, but I like to think it's because they're worse in some undefined way.

Not to say Chromebooks don't have their own set of issues, but that's a bit of an odd reason to write them off when, 5 minutes of adjusting to a slightly different visual style aside, they're functionally identical office suites for 99% of people.
