Childcare

I was previously studying at the Open University (full time) and was told I wasn’t allowed to claim the childcare grant so as you can imagine, nursery fees left me short of money. I’m about to start a distance learning course through Nottingham Trent, would I still not get any help with childcare costs? I think this is so unfair considering I am disabled and cannot attend a university in person.

Hi @Lrszmcr, we're looking forward to welcoming you to NTU!

We have some information here about funding for parents and carers, including the Parents' Learning Allowance, Childcare Grant as well as other funding you may be eligible to receive. However, I highly recommend booking some time with our Student Money Team. They'll be able to deliver in-depth, personalised advice and support about the Childcare Grant as well as SFE applications and answer a wide range of money and funding questions.

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions!
