Childcare Grant

Hi, Starting Uni in September and just wondered if someone could clarify something for me in regards to the Childcare Grant. It states that the threshold for 1 child is £20,107.23 for household income. I know ChatGPT is not always accurate, but I put my circumstances into there and it said that I was eligible for it, even though household income is more than the threshold. It says that I may be eligible for a partial amount of the grant. Can anyone confirm if this is correct or not? Would it be pointless in me applying for it? Many thanks.

Hi Sarah,

If you follow the steps here this will show you the entitlement based on the household income. It also is assessed as well depending on the amount of children: https://www.gov.uk/childcare-grant/what-youll-get

Based on this that is correct for childcare if it's for 1 child in 25/26.

Thanks, Jason
