it can literally be on anything as long as it is informative and shows your way of thinking and how you talk to the audience

Then I would recommend doing a speech on something you are familiar with, to answer questions after the speech with ease and make the speech fit your normal talking pattern. That's to make it easier to present it.

We had someone in our year talk about teas and serve a cup of tea as part of the presentation

Honestly, it is so fun to listen to presentations that are niche. You could literally make a presentation on why a whiteboard is a must-buy. (I used A2 whiteboards on the daily to revise)

Audience wise, you form your speech by considering how you would present the speech. If you like to wander when talking, push it and make it so you are presenting at an auction house or something- honestly, anything goes

okay, thank you so much. I think my idea is to write a speech about money and if it really does make the world go round, but i feel the questions may be a bit difficult and it might be too complex of an idea.... what do you think?

It depends on how you phrase it, I had some really easy questions like 'what do you think...?' If you do pros and cons, or if you make a conspiracy out of it. It honestly is more dependent on delivery

As in a lot of questions are opinions

Do you have a time limit for the speeches? As in how long the delivery is?

i think it is 5-6 minutes of speaking, and idk how long the questions are supposed to take but i think my teacher said it should take about 10 mins in total

Then I would plan out the key points you want to highlight in the speech and see if its balanced as an arguement. Then find areas that questions might appear. The basics would usually be 'why do you think...?' or 'What could be done to...?' Etc

I think it could be a nice idea. I would personally make it into a conspiracy and try to persuade the audience into believing Elon Musk is the evidence or something. This would be a speech more to entertain than to inform though.

Do you need it to be informative only or is it fine for it to be arguementitive and persuasive?

Our teacher said it doesn't really matter what it is about, it just needs to be spoken well and presented well - thanks for the tips about the questions though!!

No problem, of course they my attempt to ask something hard, but that is usually only if you don't give them a lot of information to mark you on. I believe for the higher mark, you need to hit the researched/informed mark, well spoken/ articulated and then how relevant to audience is the presentation. Anyway, good luck on writing it!

Please don't stress abt it, it is literally so ez, but in terms of tips (I got a distinction in it), just write about something u r interested in. Dont be like me and feel pressured to write something really like complex, cuz I thought that was the only way to get distinction, but it wasn't. I tried to go simple and did it on something I really loved (cats). But to give me more like things to write abt I wrote my speech about Cats vs Dogs. So my tip 1 would be write abt wht u r really interested in and are willing to search about. tip 2 would be to memorise the speech-> u obvs need to do this if u want a distinction, but I WOULD DEFFO recommend having flashcards with ur speech written out-> write small tho to fit it onto a few cards. U CANNOT LOOK AT UR SPEECH THE ENTIRE TIME, but glance at it a few times and if u forget, look down at ur cards. GOOD LUCK, ITS LITERALLY SO EASYYY, U WILL BE FINE, THE WORST THING TO DO IS STRESS AND FORGET UR SPEECH-> A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE SHAKING WHEN DOING THE SPEECH IN MY CLASS, AND THAT MEANT THEY WERE TOO QUITE, SO I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT U PRACTICE SAYING IT TO SOME FRIENDS OR FAMILY.

ALSO I WOULD DEFFO RECOMMEND U GIVE AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT QUESTIONS TO PEOPLE IN UR CLASS AND PLAN THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS TOO ALONGSIDE UR SPEECH, MEMORISE THESE ANS AS WELL, IF NOT 5 QUESTIONS THEN AT LEAST 3. THESE QUESTIONS NEED TO BE FROM 5 DIFFERENT FREINDS, NOT THE SAME PERSON. this is reallyyyyyy sooooo helpffullll, I cant stress enough, I have done my gcses and so I would know, BUT PLEASE DO THIS BECUZ UR TEACHER WONT ASK U A QUESTION THIS WAY WHICH MIGHT MAKE U CONFUSED OR PAUSED AS U MIGHT BE PUT OFF IF THE QUESTION ENDS UP BEING DIFFICULT.
