Drama schools/ unis

This is probably stupid but I would like to ask it anyway.

To anyone who has done an ACTING course audition (mainly acting Ba Hons) I know that some drama schools or unis do ask you to do a song just to see how you are with that kinda environment and stuff but I also play piano and obviously I really would like to give myself the best opportunity to get into one of these so when doing the song (that’s recorded) would I like get more brownie points if I played piano while I was sinning? If you know what I mean.

If you're going for a traditional acting course you will likely not be required to perform music. I've been to one where it was an optional thing, but I doubt it's the standard. Other course types might be different.

Have you thought about Actor Musician courses? They are actor training degrees based in drama schools but they develop you to be able to play instruments on stage too (as in current productions like Benjamin Button, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe etc). Becoming much more popular. Have a look at Rose Bruford, GSA, Mountview, Leeds Conservatoire and LIPA.
