Y12 to year 13

I’m currently finishing year 12 and I’m studying physics chemistry and maths for a level. My grades are currently on D’s and I’m want to know how hard year 13 is going to be. On average, I have been studying for 1 and a half hours every day and my mocks went worse than I expected. I came to the uk in year 9 and I had zero English at that time and by year 11 I achieved a 9 in Arabic gcse, 7 in maths after being on 3 at the start of the year, 4 marks away for a combined 7-7 science. My question is could I do the same comeback in year 13 if I continue at this rate in year 12 (1.5 hours a day) and lock in in year 13 with around 3 hours a day?

No, you can not. If you are getting D's currently, that indicates you don't even know year 12 properly. Spend the summer learning over year 12 content thoroughly, do past papers, and practise questions. Year 13 is based on Yr 12. Yr 12 is the foundation, and if your foundation is weak, then your whole understanding will be weak. If you don't want year 13 to be hell, spend the summer going over Yr 12 content thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly. And maybe if you have time, dabble into Yr 13 to get a feel like what it's about. You seriously need to lock in if you want good grades. 1.5 hours per day isn't going to cut it, do min 3 hours per school day (excluding revision during free periods) and increase that to 7 hours on weekends. Take regular breaks so you don't get burnt out or tired. You have plenty of time and time, and you have an opportunity. Many people realise it when it's too late, but you have time. The final decision is up to you.

Doable, but it'll be very difficult. You'll need to do at least 5 hours per week of study per subject out of school (including hw) until you're back on your feet
