iPad for A- levels

Hi,
I’ve decided to use an iPad for my a levels and I’m starting year 12 in September.
I’m looking for some advice on what the best apps are for a levels and organisation.
I need one for taking notes that I can trust not to lose all my work (terrified of this) and could also provide neat handwriting as mine is awful and I’ve seen a feature like this on TikTok but can’t remember the app.

I’ve really liked my laptop that I’ve used for GCSEs and have never owned an iPad so need to know how to use it effectively to stay on top of things.

Any other advise on how to stay organised and revise is appreciated
Thanks

The two features you've mentioned as priorities, handwriting to text or handwriting improvement and... not deleting itself, are not going to differ between iPad models, they're software features and any iPad currently in production will have access to them. If you're worried about accidentally deleting your work, just make sure you're backing up to either a cloud based service or physical storage.

The current generation of baseline iPad will be absolutely fine for basic student work, and there's nothing really to be gained by spending almost double the money on the next model up.

Thanks for the info, really helpful! Backing up to iCloud or another service makes sense to avoid losing notes. I’m also looking into GoodNotes and Notability for neat handwriting and organisation, but not sure which is better. It would be great to hear if anyone’s used them for A-Levels.
