personal statement

Hello guys, just coming to ask for some help regarding my personal statement. I want to do either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, but in my personal statement I'm not sure how I can integrate both with this new personal statement style. However, I'm more into the Chemical Engineering side, as Chemistry is my favourite subject that I'm doing out of Maths and Physics. If you can recommend me any books to read, or what relevant work experience is needed (I have emailed countless chemical plants and labs), that would be great. Thank you.
