Uni Clearing 2025

guys i’m really in need of help. i firmed SOAS uni for Law but really my heart isn’t set on going there. I wanted to apply to RG unis but my school kinda shegged my UCAS grades because of some extenuating circumstances that they didn’t want to take into account so I couldn’t rlly apply to any which honestly set me back quite a bit.
If I do get better than my predicted on results day is there any chance that I can get into a better uni thru clearing? I know Law is a competitive course but I’ve always had my mind set on going to a RG uni and going to something different I know I just wouldn’t put in any effort with. I’d rather go somewhere where i’ll enjoy and feel happy with than somewhere where I know i won’t enjoy and feel low being at.

Its unlikely that the really competitive Law Unis will be in Clearing.
If you do get good grades, I'd recommend that you plan a gap year and reapply for Law with 5 new choices next year. Time to prepare for, and take, LNAT to get the best score you can, and to have some time out. An extra year is worth it if it means you get the Uni you really want.

This was my exact thinking too n i agree 100%. I did take the LNAT already but my score was bad so that probs would’ve set me back also. but there’s the issue of my mum that doesn’t understand me wanting to take a gap year / even retaking if it comes to it. she just thinks i should keep moving forward even if it’s not the best outcome but that’s not what i know is best for me or what i want to do and she doesn’t understand that for such a competitive course being at a good uni lowkey matters which is also a real problem for what happens next.

Come up with some real ideas for a gap-year, and promise her that you will reapply.
Parents often worry that you will then just drift about and not re-engage!
