My bf is insecure about his skin

I'm really sad about how insecure he is about his appearance mainly this skin condition he has on his face. I forgot what it's called but his cheeks are just red all the time like it looks like he is blushing. It's literally one of my favorite things about him but he is so embarrassed by it. I try to tell him it's beautiful and all when he talks about it but he is put down a lot by it. Sometimes he cancels when we're about to go out because he is flushing badly and I'm really heartbroken by it. Besides the times he flushes or is flaring up it's super adorable with his rosy cheeks but I try not to say anything because it may make him upset.
It's kind of a weird situation I know but is there something I can do to help him?

Great that you care how he’s feeling. Keep reassuring him. Advise him to get some more support from his GP. Even if it can’t be treated much, they can help him see it in perspective and maybe recommend some counselling

His specialist hasn't really helped him at all with this from what I've heard from him and I'll try to keep helping him go through this Thanks

it's prob rosacea, there isn't really a 'cure', just teach him to use skin tint/bb cream to cover it up a bit

There’s a popular tiktoker online who has the same condition and is quite confident about it, maybe you guys could have a look at some of his videos since he normalises it so much it may help to boost your bf’s confidence a bit, i think he’s called Aidan!

Unconventional advice but if I was really uncomfortable with the way I looked, I wouldn't someone (anyone) to say they like it or its beautiful - those are both fairly strong things to hear if you're someone who's trying to downplay or avoid thinking about something and I don't really think it works on a lot of people - it just lets them know that it's obvious/noticeable

For the people least comfortable with the way they look (which sounds like your bf), the first thing I think it's helpful to learn is that other people don't notice nearly as much as you think they do. That way they can come to accept themselves. Then (self-)love can follow more easily
