Hello Ayaan! As a fellow Snowman, I definitely understand the concern but I've found my fair share of tricks that'll hopefully help!
Within the college, the Igloo bar can provided some quick snacks like a good curly fries or pizza but they do have a limited range.
As for nearby restaurants, all the closest ones are university owned. The Mill Hill (old) Business School is a minute walk from John Snow and has a pretty good Fusion restaurant and quite a few of the teaching buildings in Lower Mount Joy have their own restaurants as well. These tend to be quite affordable (around £7 for a meal) and in my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Durham is Zing in the TLC so it definitely is a good option. The negative is that most university restaurants close quite early so if you're looking for dinner options, you can also go to any catered college nearby (e.g. Aidans, Van Mildert etc.) and purchase a meal there anytime you want! (they also cost around £7)
I would also say don't fret about the walk into town. I know it seems arduous but trust me when I say you get used to it and you definitely get your steps in!

Thanks alot Lesath that actually helps alot. Definitely makes me feel alot more confident with a self catered college like snow.
