How do I make good Computer Science notes? (AQA)

This year, my revision with computer science has been so time consuming. The powerpoints used in class contain so much fluff and go into too much detail often taking over 50 slides long just to cover a small section/topic of the A Level course. This has led to me spending so much time making notes and revising unnecessary content that have never and will never come up in exams.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make good quality notes that goes over everything that we need to know and we can be tested on, without being overly long and full of unnecessary info as well as any revision sites I can take notes from?

I've looked at PMT but over there I just feel that even the advanced notes are too brief and misses out certain stuff from time to time, whilst my school powerpoints are overly long.

hi, my own point of view, past question will help, focus on more concept and ideas, include relevant code and examples. what specific area of computer science are you studying?

I was talking about A-Level Computer Science in general, but a specific area of comsci I found really annoying making notes on and revising was fundamentals of computer systems, I had to go over so much slides, notes and content for what seemed to a couple small topics within the overall course.

Revising for A level computer science can be overwhelming, especially when dealing with complex topics like fundamental of computer system. anyway i have tips for you, breakdown topics into smaller chunks, create concept maps or flashcards, summarize key point in your own words and practice past papers and question.

Use physics and maths tutor!! They have all the topics for aqa and ocr a level compsci and it has helped me massively into writing and sorting my notes 😁

u could use cornell notes method (attached img) & craig n dave yt (they have videos specific to exam boards like AQA & OCR) to make cs notes. Perhaps in class, u could use smth like obsidian (or anything else, ex: notepad, etc...) to quickly take down stuff & later u can make the cornell notes from that + craig n dave videos (because yr school presentations have a lot of detail in them)
