Cas delay university of essex

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student and I submitted my CAS application two weeks ago for the upcoming October 2025 intake and now it's third week. I was wondering if any fellow international students could share how long it took for their CAS to be processed at the University of Essex?

I’m starting to feel quite anxious due to the time pressure. Since I haven’t heard back yet, I’m hoping that means everything is in order and there won’t be any further document requests—because that would add another round of delays.

I completely understand that UK universities are handling a large volume of applications right now. Still, as an international student, it’s a bit stressful not knowing when the CAS will come through—especially considering how limited the validity period is for financial documents like bank statements. I'm really hoping it doesn't take more than 4 weeks.

Thanks so much in advance for any insight or advice!

It's happening to a lot of international students enrolled for the October 2025 term. Check out the UniBuddy app and join the Essex internation community group chat, and you'll see everyone complaining about it. Poor show by Essex! I genuinely believe they won't be able to issue it because every time I've contacted them asking for clarification how significant the issue is such that the CAS may not even be issued, they brushed me off by providing non-answers. Accept another uni offer if you can!

Did you get your CAS? I’m also an international student enrolling this year. Submitted my pre-cas questionnaire more than a month ago and still haven’t got my CAS letter
