The Student Room Group

New International Student

Hi, I'm an international student coming to University of Stirling in September for my masters.
I would like to hear from people in Beech Court to know more about it and possibly find a room mate.
And to make one or two contacts so that it doesn't feel like I'm going in blindly.

Hi @me_kosi,

Congratulations on your university place! 🙂

I would recommend finding out if your university has course and accommodation community groups. Here at the university, we have Facebook groups but other unis may have them on other platforms. These are a great way to find who you'll be studying with and living with it.

Best wishes, ^Zac

Hiya @me_kosi just to add on to what the others have mentioned, fresher facebook groups are a great way to meet people on a similar course or fellow post graduate students. Alternatively you can contact people through socials, thats how some of my peers met up before uni. You may not always be able to choose your flatmates are when it comes to Halls of Residence, so be sure to check with the the relevant Stirling Accommodation before hand 🤗 You can also search for fellow flatmates on apps like Spare Room and narrow it down through location filters. Are you considering other private accommodation options? If so platforms like Open Rent, Right Move are useful ☺️
