Hi there, nice to meet you!🙌

I'm thrilled that you will be attending ARU Cambridge in September; you'll love it so much!

I studied psychology and criminology, and I totally remember and understand how you're feeling at the moment. ARU is a very pleasant place, and you'll meet lots of kind people, especially in the foundation year when everyone is in the same boat❣️

However, starting something new might be a little nerve-racking. If you don't know anyone yet, don't worry, I did not either, and I also moved from another country just for ARU! Once you start, you'll make friends fast. I'd highly suggest joining the course and ARU student organisations on social media: it's a terrific chance to meet people before classes start!

Always feel free to message again if you have any questions or simply want to talk😊.

Best,

Anna

Hi @Scoopy 😇,

Well, ARU maintains a strong presence on all social media platforms, and you can follow our distinct campus accounts prior to joining! Our social media accounts can be found at https://www.aru.ac.uk/about-us/connect-with-us

Additionally, a lot of our Student Union's societies also have their own social media pages: if a society interests you, click the following link: https://www.angliastudent.com/societies/

Before I started my BSc, I also joined a group! I managed to find a person who was doing my same course and we started chatting. They were my anchor during the beginning of the course, since it was online (covidddd). I was so happy to have someone to share the experience with, first assignments, first lectures in English (we both came from other countries), first time checking for homes for when we'd move to the UK... And consider that I am not a social media fan, but I am sooo glad I slipped and signed in!

I truly suggest it!

Hope this helps!

Best,

Anna💕
