Applying for a Cambridge degree whilst on a Cambridge degree

Hello,

I have been offered a place on a Cambridge online course. It starts this September and it is 2 years long.

Is it okay for me to apply for the degree this October.

It would mean I won’t be able to complete the 2 year course.

But I don’t have a degree. I don’t want to wait until the end of the course to start my degree because I am already in my 20s without a degree.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also for my own safety I won’t be specific about the course I am on and the degree I want to apply for. I hope you can understand 🫶

I don't see why not, unless it has funding implications for you. Remember, just because you apply, does not mean you will be offered a place.

Apply for the degree and if you receive an offer, work out your best option then. If you do not get an offer, you can complete the 2nd year of the course you are on and you can try again for the degree the following year.

I don't know what the 'safety' thing is about: this is entirely anonymous.

Cambridge doesn't offer any sort of online or distance learning courses, so whatever course this is, it isn't a Cambridge 'degree'. If you have been offered a place on an actual undergraduate ('degree') course, and that is the outcome you are aiming for, I'd accept the offer.

If you want people to give you a sensible answer, they you need to give us enough detail. From what you've said so far, it just doesn't make any sense.

I'm guessing you have signed up for a 2 year course through ICE and have been accepted, and now want to make an application for an undergrad degree?

If that's the case, then it might work out, but probably will just be costly and pointless. First, you won't be allowed to do both courses at once. Second, if you already hold the qualifications for the undergrad course, then you don't need to do the online course. Third, if you need the online course to evidence academic ability, Cambridge will want you to complete that course, merely being selected isn't sufficient.

But maybe you are talking about a completely different situation. We need to know some specifics to be able to help.
