Student Finance Special Support Loan

Hello, I'm trying to find out whether or not I am eligible for the Special Support Loan but it is so difficult to find a concise answer. Basically, me and my partner receive universal credit with the LCWRA element, my partner claims PIP and I claim DLA for our disabled young child. My student financial advisor at uni suggested that I put in for a reassessment for this year (24/25) but I have received an outcome to say that I don't qualify.
I have been accepted for SSL for the 25/26 year and this is apparently because my partner will be a student starting September. Is this right? Because none of our circumstances have changed apart from this.

Hi there. Yes this is correct. You cannot claim for LCWRA element. You cannot claim your partner on PIP as you would need to be and the same for DLA this would have to be for yourself and not a child. However, if your partner is now studying and you have care of a child then you would correctly be eligible for the 25/26 Academic Year. Thanks, David
