MLAT

Hii
does anyone know roughly what a ‘good’ MLAT (modern languages admissions test) score would be?

The marks are assessed on a scale relative to the cohort taking the test each year, and not an absolute pass mark. You would want to aim to be in the upper quartile of marks for the year the test is taken.

50% to 60% in the MLAT is usually sufficient for being shortlisted for interviews with a very good personal statement. 😉

Re the previous, the MLAT isn’t just about being shortlisted, it’s a key piece of data for getting an offer. The shortlisting rate is high for MFL and because they don’t deselect many people, a low MLAT score may still mean you get an interview, but it would count against you for getting a place if other candidates have done much better.

bro where have you got this from that's not true
i swear ur a law applicant not an ML applicant you wouldn't know. 50% won't get you an interview unless you have a REALLY good personal statement especially since they have made the MLATs much easier nowadays

Yes, sorry bro I forgot to add you require a very good personal statement too and not just a decent MLAT.

There are those with excellent MLAT scores who have been rejected according to previous year threads on TSR as well.

But I know a few applicants only had 50% to 60% and were shortlisted for interviews. 🙂

I edited my orginal comment just now. Sorry once again.
