The Student Room Group

Stuck at uni

I signed a contract to live in a 7 bed student house in Birmingham as I was at BCU, after the first year I realised universities not for me as I do not have the mentality for it right now and as I live 4 hours from Birmingham it's really hard not been around my family. The contract is 12 months long and I have signed the contract and paid deposit. I got the best room out of the 7 and was excited but the more I thought of it the more it worries me as I'm really thinking of dropping out. I read through the contract and it seems like I cannot break out of it and it's legally binding.
What can I do any help would be much appreciated. I haven't tried to find a replacement tennant as it seems hard to find anyone. It's £104 a week with bills and 4 minutes walk of train station

The only thing you can realistically do is find a replacement. Even then the landlord isn't forced to accept the change, but that's your only realistic option. Unless there's some problem with the tenancy agreement, eg the landlord hasn't included an address for service, or hasn't protected your deposit.
