Any advice for preparing for Business Management at Northumbria this September?

Hello! I am starting Business Management at Northumbria University this September and was wondering if there is anyone who is currently on this course who knows how I can get ready and prepare for this subject during the summer! Thank you in advance! I am grateful for any tips and advice!

If you’re currently on the course (or have done it recently), I’d love to hear:
What are the first-year modules like?
Are there any books, videos, or websites you’d recommend for getting ahead?
Any resources that helped you with coursework or understanding key topics?

Hi!

Although not at Northumbria Uni, I am in fact studying business management as-well. I know the course probably differs slightly between the 2 unis however I can give you some advice!

There is not a huge amount that you can do to prepare for September but reading around the subject would be my best advice. Online you should be able to find the modules that you will be completing during your first year at uni and therefore you will be able to research and get some content to read to give you a basic understanding of what is it come. There will be certain books that the uni recommend for the course however, they will let you know what these are during the first couple of weeks that you start so you can get a hold of them.

Apart from doing some research into the modules you will be doing and reading around, there isn't too much more that you can do. Try and make the most of your summer as-well, days out with friends and things like that are a great way to spend your time before starting your exciting university journey!

Good luck with everything, let me know if you have any other questions I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 😊
