How to get out of B grade for A-Level sciences

In both chem and bio I keep getting Bs, and I know myself I keep revising really hard but it just seems like I'm stuck at this for my science subjects, any tips from anyone who was able to free themselves from this curse bc I do like hundreds of chem questions, of course I dont get all of them right but I though doing past questions was the method but I'd rather know how to fix this so I can get As next year, with biology its kind of the same but I know I need to work on my maths but id appreciate other tips!!! pls

Talk to the relevant teachers and ask them what you are doing wrong and how you can fix it.

I did bio and I found that Miss Estruch is good to learn the content and past paper are a MUST. Personally, I don’t think anyone can get A and higher without doing past papers. Also, essay practice for Paper 3 is also important, it could boast your grade. And ofc ask your teachers for help and any extra work you could do.

I did AQA and there’s an essay in paper 3. Last question worth 25marks

Hii! One thing I did that helped: once I did my past papers, I’d go over the questions to see where I lost marks and write the topics where I lost marks on the front and try to watch some videos on those and then do PMT topic questions and I think that helps too since even though the questions are very different, some patterns still exist in how the questions should be answered and also helps to realise what links the questions might be making
Let me know if you have any other questions!
For reference I did Edexcel SNAB A Bio and OCR A chem

Hi there,

could I ask what year you are in? You will find lots of revision tips on the internet, however my main piece of advice would be to assess where you are going wrong and start your revision early. Time must be on your side, to reduce stress and maximize your marks. Little and often works a lot better!

Are you going wrong in application or in memory questions?

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

Also one thing I regret is not doing enough active recall. I often focused heavily on a particular topic like 7 or 8 and then wouldn’t do it for a while so I’d forget most of what I learnt anyways so using online flashcards like the ones on PMT and doing regular blurting would be really beneficial!
