Sixthform induction

Hi, I’ve got a sixth form induction tomorrow and have been told to wear smart business wear. However, my school shoes are on their last legs and it’s going to be 32 degrees. Is it acceptable to wear some black sandals? I’m wearing long trousers so you’ll only really see my toes but I don’t know if it’s acceptable??
But hopefully they’ll understand due to the hot weather and everything
