People who have travelled an hour plus for sixth form or college. Was it worth it? How did you manage?

Hi @BooksAndBrews

I used to travel around 45 minutes to over an hour to get to Sixth Form, and it was definitely challenging at times. I took the bus, and since I had to change buses, it wasn’t easy to revise or do any schoolwork during the journey. So I mostly just listened to music or podcasts to make the trip more bearable.

Winter was probably the hardest, especially with delays or standing in the cold, but it was doable. I just had to plan my time well and leave early. My Sixth Form also understood the distance I was travelling, so if I was ever running late due to delays, I’d just call in and they were pretty understanding. If the school or course is worth it, the travel can be managed. It just takes a bit of routine and adjustment.
