Should I go for a better uni without accreditations or a worse uni with accreditation

I am considering Economics and Finance bsc at UEA. I think UEA is a better uni than unis like University of Kent, Brunel and Royal Holloway. However, I don't believe UEA has accreditations for finance courses whereas the universities that I mentioned after do. What should I go for based off this information?

Hi Adam,

It will really depend on what your future career plans are. If you're planning to go into careers where you need an accreditation then it's really important you choose a course with accreditations.

But it's also really important to choose a uni that you like. You're going to spend a minimum of three years at uni so it's better to choose one where you can see yourself living and studying. Things like distance from home, course content, and cost of living are all super important to consider as well as accreditation status.

But if you can I would get in contact with the admissions department of each uni you are interested to confirm whether their courses are accredited or not. You can contact UEA's admissions team here: [email protected].

Hopefully this helps a bit and will help you make a decision. Sorry I can't be of more help but ultimately it's your decision and I hope you end up somewhere you really enjoy!

If you have any more questions, let me know 😊

I'm curious what's made you feel that UEA is a "better" uni, since that's a little vague - is it because it scores better on league tables etc. or because you personally like it more?
