Honestly do something you find slightly enjoyable, or something easy. Learn from my mistakes don’t do Maths or physics. And just do loads of work experience.

The only essential subjects for Pharmacy or Pharmacology are Chemistry and another science.

Medicine can be a bit more complicated as different Med Schools accept different combinations of STEM subjects (usually Chemistry plus another science), so you will need to check the requirements carefully - the Medical Schools Council collates these into one document and are currently updating for the 2026 entry requirements, but check here is a few days - UK medical school entry requirements - Medical Schools Council Always also check for any essential GCSE requirements.

Its rare for any science degree to specify a third science A level. All they want is the grade. So it makes sense to pick a 3rd subject that you will enjoy studying, and where you feel confident of a high grade. If the Uni doesn't specify or 'prefer' a 3rd subject it can literally be anything - so don't worry about what is 'relevant' or what you think 'looks good' - pick something that interests you.

Hiya lovely

As you already have picked biology and chemistry as 2 of your alevels, I believe you're more than equipped to get into a pharmaceutical course. I had a similar experience only instead of pharmacy I picked forensic science. As my 3rd subject after chem and bio I ended up taking a subject that I enjoyed and felt I could take a break in, which for me was english lit. So my advice for you would be to consider taking the last subject based on something you like/ are good at  . I wish you good luck with your choices

Kind regards Aneta
3rd year forensic science
