The Student Room Group
Sorry to say that there doesn't seem to be many Imperial Biochemists here.

The one person who put there name down in the Fresher's Thread: christyhk717 appears inactive now. I guess you've got to hope for an older student with a good memory. Or ask a Biologist and a Chemist and sorta average them out... :p:
A person who live on my floor is a BioChemist, she showed me her timetable when we moved in, and tbh, it was very EMPTY compare to mine. For the first term, all their lectures starts at 10 in the morning! and most of their afternoon seems to be cover with library lectures (at least 2 of them I saw) and some lab sorts of things. However, not sure about tie tables after that, but they do have to purchase heavy biochemistry books!

I know a biochemist and he rarely went in to lectures, but he still gained a 2:1 at the end of the first year.

That's quite possible for pretty much any subject.

I don't see whats wrong with that...

No need to go to lectures, especially in first year. I doubt anyone has ever learnt something inside lectures anyway

But... is it easy in Biochemistry to get a 1st?
1st Year Biochemistry is lectures every day starting at either 9 or 10, until 12. Then the afternoon consists of 3 hour labs most of the time. But since there are two lab groups you'll only be doing this half of the time. The other half of the time you'll have tutorials or some :santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2: like that.

As someone hinted to earlier though, it's more about reading in your own time out of the beasty textbooks. Wel, at least much more so than for other subjects.
