Should I move uni from Cambridge- high 2:2 second year economics

Got a high 2:2 second year economics Cambridge. It counts for 30% of my grade so nearly impossible to get a first overall next year.

Should I ring other unis to see if I should repeat year 2. Or stick it out at Cambridge- I love the uni. Is a 2:1 overall very bad?

You got a high 2.2 and are lamenting that you're not going to get a first? Bit late for that

No, you're probably not going to get a first, but a 2.1 from Cambridge will be worth more than a first from the majority of universities. Likewise, a 2.1 is probably less 'expensive' than retaking the year

The top universities don't accept transfers for the reason that they don't need to. So you may find a university that would take you but they will be nowhere near the standard and reputation of Cambridge so even getting a first there will put you in a position that employers will be taking those with a 2:1 from Cambridge etc ahead of you.

A 2:1 from Cambridge is still a good qualification that will be well regarded by employers.

Also consider that you are happy at Cambridge which has to be a huge consideration. You could move universities, be less happy and still end up with a 2:2. As the saying goes "the grass is not always greener"!
