Cardiff university politics

Hello, so I have a situation where I’m wondering whether or not its worth applying to Cardiff university to do politics and IR. My predicted grades are AAC and the subjects are Business, sociology and politics. Cardiffs requirements are ABB with a 6 in english which I do not have. Id just like to know honestly what my chances are and if its worth applying still, thanks.

Are you going to be applying for entry this year via clearing? Or is this for entry in 2026?

If it's through clearing, it's worth noting that there is no limit to the amount of courses you can apply to, so I would go for it and see what they say. If this is for normal application entry for next year though, I would still apply. Your predicted grades technically match the UCAS points that they require. Remember that grades are only one part of your application; so you do still have a chance to win them over if they choose to be strict with their GCSE requirement.

Hiya!

Great choices! I am a student here at Cardiff and love it!
I understand you will be applying for 2026, but this year we have vacancies in clearing for Politics and IR, so I would say your chances are good, not that it is the same every year of course, but that is potentially a positive sign for you. I would definitely still apply!
