Switch to a different course through Clearing after accepting a a conditional offer?
Hi, I’ve received a conditional offer to study Politics and Philosophy at the University of Nottingham, which requires me to achieve a 2:1 this year. However, I’ve recently realised I’d much rather study Accountancy, which I’ve seen is currently available in Clearing at Nottingham. I didn’t meet the standard entry requirements for Politics and Philosophy, but I was still given an offer. Would it be possible to switch to Accountancy if i acheive the 2:1 in my current studies as it's in clearing?

Hi Lime,
This will be at your uni's discretion. If you want to ask Notts to change your course and you are 100% sure this is what you want to do, then ring them up immediately and ask if this is a possibility. Course switches are sometimes possible but it depends on whether you meet the requirements for Accountancy and if there is space on the course. Will you be transferring into year 2? If so then it may be more likely the uni will encourage you to apply from year 1, but this is something you'd have to check with them.

If you are hoping to enrol on Politics & Philosophy then transfer, it depends on a few factors if you will be allowed to do this including if there are any spaces on the course.
