Hi my daughter is doing a fine art undergraduate this sep 2025 would you know the term dates and holidays for sep2025 and year 2026 or if not where can I get the information I need many thanks

Term dates will vary from university to university. It's best to directly contact the university your daughter is going to and ask for the dates they will be operating on for their Fine Art course.

Hi, I've moved your thread to the uni life forum :smile:

As above, this will be university dependent. Normally the forthcoming academic year (sometimes for a couple years ahead) dates will be posted on the uni website, if you search for "*X university* calendar" or "*X university* term dates" you can usually find the relevant webpage (do not rely on the google AI search results they are almost universally incorrect).

Note that while some universities have reading weeks, these should not be assumed to be half-term holidays as often overflow teaching from sessions that had to be cancelled to a last minute issue will be scheduled in these, and some courses don't actually utilise the reading week period at all and just teach through the entire term. It's normally expected students will be resident "on campus" during any reading week (of course in practice this is often not the case but, best not to plan a holiday in advance for those periods...).

Conventionally outside of Oxbridge most unis in my experience have about 3-4 weeks from mid December to early January, around a month in the spring, and then from whenever exams end up to the start of the following academic year in summer. Bear in mind however usually in late summer (August/September) there may be a reassessment period for resit examinations or deferred exams, which students should be available for (having a prebooked holiday I imagine would not be an acceptable reason to miss a resit/deferred exam).

Oxbridge tends to have 6 week holiday periods between each 8 week term although it broadly follows a similar pattern - they just have shorter terms and longer breaks between terms. However as I understand during the winter/spring vacations work is often set for students, and later in the course they may be expected to do dissertation work in the summer vacation or similar.

Term timetables vary slightly from University to University. I would advise you to reach out to the University that you will be attending, as they will be able to best advise you on term dates for the upcoming year.
