probably, i've heard UCL is too

I think Durham is often considered the place for Oxbridge rejects. It's modeled on the Oxbridge system, and nearly everyone I've spoken to who's applied to Oxford or Cambridge has also applied to Durham.
Reply 3
they are at Imperial because Oxford rejected them, not because they rejected Oxford
Reply 4
Well its a very top uni and so are Oxbridge so chances are that most of the people there will have applied to Oxbridge too. And if they get a place at Oxbridge they will probably take it, however there will still be some who prefer the idea of uni in london or prefer the Imperial course who will choose that first.

What?

Imperial is the **** for engineering, people choose it over Oxbridge.
Reply 6
i chose to apply to imperial rather than apply to oxford.
because of the lack of hospitals in oxford.... and i want a big city  i love big cities. :yep:

i think IF i had applied to both and IF (by some miracle) i got into both, i'd choose imperial tbh.

definitely true.
i was out with my friend who is at durham (and is an oxbridge reject himself lol) and his friends reactions when they heard i was at cambridge were quite amusing!:p:
i didnt apply to durham cos i live here (and wanted to leave!!) and they're pretty rubbish for my course but i know a lot of people at cambridge who did.

(nice sig btw also very true)

I know quite a few people who have rejected oxbridge for imperial for engineering. However for other courses i don't know

Bar the word reject, a uni of oxbridge-rejects is hardly a bad thing...

You can't generalise all of Imperial students as Oxbridge rejects. Is it shocking to believe that Oxbridge isn't all that to some people and they may actually want to go to Imperial?

Yep at my sixth form college loads of people get 4+ A's and just do not apply to Oxbridge because they don't want to they'd prefer to go to LSE or Imperial
My sister might go to Imperial (she has an offer from there) and she didn't apply to Oxbridge as she didn't have the grades and wouldn't want to go there anyway...I'm guessing she's not the only one who applied to Imperial without applying to Oxbridge!
Why are there so many girls posting in a thread about Imperial?

Meh, I applied there and not Oxbridge.
I am offended for you to say that. Imperial et al. is NOT the place where Oxbridge rejects go. You can't generalise - and it's stereotyping saying that "Imperialers are Oxbridge-rejects". No. People earned their place at Imperial, like you would at any university.
