Both courses have HCPC approval so will be kept to the same standard and cover the required content. Which did you prefer when you visited in terms of staff, facilities, placement locations, etc.?

Hey there,

At LSBU, the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy course is designed to prepare you for a rewarding and hands-on career helping people improve their independence and quality of life. The course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), meaning you’ll graduate ready to register and work as a qualified occupational therapist in the UK.

The course blends theory and practical learning throughout the three years. You’ll study modules such as Human Occupation and Health, Occupational Therapy Interventions, Research Methods, and Professional Practice. A big part of the degree is clinical placement you’ll complete over 1,000 hours in NHS trusts, community settings, and charities, giving you real experience from early on.
Teaching at LSBU is very supportive and interactive. Our lecturers are qualified occupational therapists with clinical experience, and classes often involve group work, workshops, and simulation exercises. The small group learning style means you get plenty of one-to-one guidance.

The campus is in central London, which is ideal for healthcare students you’re close to leading hospitals and community centres, and placements are well-connected across London. Many students say they appreciate the sense of community on the course and how approachable the lecturers are.

You can also chat with our current students on Unibuddy if you’d like to ask about their experiences or what studying at LSBU is really like https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/student-life/chat

I’d really encourage you to join us at our Open Day https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/open-days on the 15th November as you’ll be able to chat with our lecturers, current students, and admissions team to get a real feel for the course and career path.
