Okay tyy so I need 3 documents to upload, 2 of which are going to be my passport and driving licence, but I’m struggling on the third one since I received instructions from my uni to have it certified by the post office however the post office with receipts, but the post office doesn’t certify birth certificates ( I already have a certified one from when I was born) and they ‘don’t accept bank statements printed from the internet, letter headed paper must be used’ so I’m a bit confused on what documents I’m meant to use then

In terms of bank statements look for a bank statement thats been sent in the post in the last 3 months or most recent as it is an original if u cant ur best option is to request from the bank for a recent bank statement (saying this because they don’t accept bank statements that you would’ve got off the online banking as they can be forged so they prefer an original) if its for proof of address you could also use a utility bill or ask your school for a letter xx

If I go to the bank in person and request for a letter of my bank statement, would they give it to me on the day?

theres a chance but they might send it to you via post in the next day or two but i guess you could always say that it is urgent also please ask the post office before hand if they accept banks statements straight from the bank before you request for one because it will be a waste if they dont take it in the end

Thank youu, If I do get a bank statement in time then I’ll probably photocopy it before going to the post office but I’ve also made sure to send an email to the uni asking if I could submit an already certified birth certificate despite not having a post office receipt for it

OK reading the website this is what i would recommend you do
1.Bring Originals of Passport ,Bank Statement and Divers Licence
2.Bring Photocopies of each with you
3.Ofc have the form with you, you can also ask for this at the post office branches
https://www.postoffice.co.uk/dam6/jcr:0ee8ca5e-c8da-4bcf-b66e-614e0905706c/document-certification-service-application-form-march-19.pdf
4.pay the £12.75 fee and validate them
im sure this process is to validate copies as they can be forged ,as mentioned before hope this helps xx

Hiii I’ve actually reread the document they sent with instructions and it says Have your 3 ID documents certified by the post office […] , for more information on acceptable documents see attached’ and the attached document does allow birth certificates so I might be able to use that without the post office 🤞🤞

Sorry but the email for the dbs check said to do it by 8 July, however I’m waiting for a physical bank statement so I can certify my identification by the post office and haven’t done it yet.
Will it be a problem if I do it later this week or month?

I’d say to call them in and let them know about your situation, but also I went to the post office with my long form birth certificate and was able to get it verified by the post office despite what it said online

If they have a deadline its best to do it by that time however if u do send them the info maybe a few days after the 8th then it shouldnt be an issue
