Chances at LSE

Im in year 12 my predicteds grades at AAB ( a B in maths) there is no chance for my predicteds to go up. Is there a chance for me to get into BSC economics and philosophy at LSE even though entry req is AAA. Im also sitting TMUA as an additional test to show my mathematical ability. Will that help my application if I do well and counteract my B in maths.
Honestly given your weakest grade is in the most important subject I think it'd be a real stretch.

Do you think it’s still beneficial to do the TMUA

If it's not required for admission it will make no difference, and even if it's required a good performance in the TMUA won't ameliorate missing the grade in the A-level I don't think :/

LSE rejected my cousin based on A*A*Ba in A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and AS-Level Economics. They wanted A* grade in A-Level Maths for BSc Economics. However, UCL accepted him. 🙂

He was accepted in 2019. Because he also had 9A* 2B at GCSE and A grade AS-Level Economics and was orginally predicted an A* but had a bad exam time and got a very high B and close to an A grade.

But you will find UCL has also become very competitive. Because in 2022 my other cousin applied and got in with A*A*A*A in Maths, French, Philsophy and Economics. So many applicants to UCL exceed the entry requirements.

So, yes you do require an A* in A-Level Maths for LSE and UCL both require A* grade A-Level Maths but KCL and QMUL want an A grade and SOAS only asks for either an A or B grade. 🙂
