A-Level Results Day Dread

I know this is the same issue with pretty much everyone, but I am so scared for results day and beyond. I feel like I'm driving the people around me crazy because it's basically all I talk about, but I feel like I need to talk about it or I'll go insane!!!

I have an offer to Cambridge on my absolute dream course and my absolute dream college (really I can't believe this has actually happened) and am worried I will miss my offer, and I'm in this sort of negative mindset that it's cambridge or there's no point in going to Uni. I know this is a bad mindset and I'm trying to get out of it, but it;s difficult to shake. I'm disabled, and one of the reasons I chose the college I did is because it's uniquely accomodating to my disability and might actually make my Uni experience good, whereas I struggle to see this happening in a regular University.

Anyway, mostly screaming into the void here. Would love to hear any comments or experiences though

It's a tense time waiting for your results, especially with such an awesome offer and one that fits you so well. This is a great place to off load, people around you will understand as they love you. When it comes to getting your results, look at the work you have put in and the achievements you have made, no matter the results. I'm a mature student having worked in unis, disability provision is really getting better and better in university, if you ensure that you communicate your needs and get a good feel for the provisions all should be grand, looks like youareontoo of that. Good luck for your results

literally in the exact same position in terms of having a cambridge offer for my dream course + college and having no idea what i'd do if i missed the offer.

best advice: keep screaming into the void, distract yourself as much as possible (socialising, reading, holidays, TV shows etc or anything that you love), get off sites like TSR and reddit (lmao), and just trust in the universe that if this is meant for you, it'll happen and you'll make your offer! just having that trust as opposed to panic makes the time go by a lot easier because you're living from a place of calmness, acceptance and trust as opposed to worry/anxiety

hope to see you in october!

Heyyy! I am in the exact same position (except my offer is for Oxford not Cambridge). We can get through this!!! I keep telling myself everything happens for a reason, and I can’t change my grades now! But I still feel like you- constantly on edge lol. Best of luck for August! Always happy to chat if you’re feeling the stress of it because I can totally relate

Should things not go to plan on results day, take a deep breath, then CALL THE UNIVERSITY.
Universities will be prepared to give you some advice and guidance, but can't do anything to support you if you don't speak to them.
