Interested in Public Service Careers? We Want to Hear From You!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently conducting a research project exploring how undergraduate students perceive careers in the public sector. While roles in government, education, health, and social services can offer purpose-driven work, many students still hesitate to consider them as first-choice career paths.

I’m particularly interested in understanding:

What motivates students to consider (or avoid) public service careers?

How do factors like gender, ethnicity, or background influence these decisions?

Are perceptions shaped more by values, job security, status, or something else?

Have you ever considered a job in the public sector? Why or why not?

What would make these careers more appealing to you?

Your insights will be incredibly helpful for shaping a better understanding of student views—and may even inform how organisations improve their outreach and recruitment efforts.

Feel free to drop your thoughts below or DM me if you're open to a short chat/interview. Thanks in advance for your input!
