Is this training course worth it? Worried I won't find a job.

I'm not in the UK, but I'm sick and tired of this job market. I've been out of work for nearly two years now.

I've lost count of the number of rejections or ghostings I've had.

That's why I've decided to sign up for a "stretcher bearer" training program. I don't know how I can translate the job into English, but that's the closest I've come to.

Anyway, it looks like a thoroughly interesting course that lasts 20 days (70 hours theoretical and 70h work experience in a hospital/clinic).

What worries me is what comes after the training period.

I've been looking into many job sites, and I can't see any job listings for it.

I really don't know what to do. Do I join the training course and hope for the best?

Do I look elsewhere, knowing that I can't find any job whatsoever?

It’s not a role I immediately recognise. From the job title it feels more about first aid and emergency rescue than a hospital skill, but nonetheless it sounds interesting. Tell us a bit more about where you found the course and the syllabus and perhaps we can advise better

The term in my language is 'brancardier'. They are the people who bring the patients from the ambulance into the hospital. They also bring patients from their hospital rooms to the operation rooms or radiology (examples).

It's a course provided by the French Red Cross. If I sign up and pass I will be given a certificate for brancardier and for AFGSU1 which is level 1 first aid.

Sounds like the nearest equivalent in the UK would be a hospital porter. This page has an outline of the role:

In the UK it is a relatively unskilled position, (in terms of qualifications), so I honestly can't say whether the training programme would make you more employable or not. However, I would say that assuming it not too much of a financial commitment it's going to a) fill a gap on your CV/resume and b) demonstrate that you are being pro-active in terms of upskilling yourself.

I agree with this. As long as you are reasonably fit to move/lift stuff, it doesn't require a lot of other skills.
But doing the course won't hurt, unless it costs a lot of money.
