The ucas acceptance is the formal acceptance of your offer to the university! We are both in! Same as if u had applied before clearing you would still get registration details some point after results day in the UK. 🙂
I think atm I’m a little nervous about what college allocation we will get but that’s not the end of the world. Really hoping for smtht that’ll be near the accounting department for my lectures.
Good luck! ❤️

Do you think we will hear before results day? Or no.

If I had to guess, probably not. I think when results day comes it is when they can finalise xyz amount of people for the courses. Probably the case for accommodation especially when people will miss their offers sadly.

The wait is making me anxious tho 💔

Manly like Collingwood because I’m quite sporty. Obvs castle would be great because it’s stunning and I also really liked the look of st chads and st cuths

I applied early through clearing because im international and already had my marks and my status got updated on ucas as “congratulations you’ve been placed at your choice” and an email from ucas saying congrats - this means im in right? Just unsure as i dont really know how the whole system works and

I haven’t received an email from Durham and it’s been just over a week.

When you applied through clearing, the grades required were same as their typical entry requirements or they could accept with a bit lower grade?

Because I’m international I can’t answer that exactly but I needed an A*AA and my atar normally equates that on most the general conversion tables

I don’t think they lower the requirements for clearing - I did IB but had the equiv of A* A* A* for an A*AA course

Likewise, castle is so gorgeous but It’s so oversubscribed so I’m not sure if we’ll get it. Otherwise would love to go to st. Cuths for their bar.

Hi! I got a lower offer through clearing as a home student but I do have mitigating circumstances that applied. I got 2 grades lower  . I think it’ll honestly depend on the demand of the course too.

I have the exact same thing on UCAS! I applied for ‘early’ clearing as I did IB and it says congrats you got a place but I got no updated UCAS email and no email from Durham abt student ID and registering for accommodation. I called Durham abt this and all they said was that the university is under an embargo until the 14th of August (A-Level results day). Therefore they “cannot confirm nor deny” our offers (i think this just means that they send out student ID and congrats emails on A-Level results day to give everyone an equal opportunity for accommodation? But I’m not sure)

Yeah this seems to be exactly the same as everyone else’s issue - we are all in if it is confirmed on UCAS they are just being super annoying about the lack of communication

As to the embargo - it began only about a week ago for Scottish results and then A level results so nothing can be updated on UCAS and unis can’t talk to applicants until after results day. Didn’t realise this applied to students whose places have already been confirmed though like IB and realistically something should have come through before the embargo started.

Yeah dk if it’s about accom maybe they just want to be fair

I’m in the same position too - got early results and got a place confirmed on UCAS. A bit disappointed with no communication whatsoever from Durham so far though.
Does anyone know what the situation with accom is atm though? Do you know if it’s guaranteed we get some accommodation or if we get a choice at all? Thanks xx

Durham University will make an offer of accommodation to all new undergraduate students who request it. Once you accept an offer of a place to study at Durham via Clearing, the Colleges Membership and Accommodation Office will contact you about confirming accommodation.

You can find out more about our Colleges here: https://www.durham.ac.uk/colleges-and-student-experience/colleges/

You will hear from Durham once the UCAS embargo has lifted, so please don't worry if you haven't heard from us yet.

If it's the same as last year (I haven't checked), they used a form and would call you back rather than having a phone number for you to call

If I get my firm or insurance choice how do I find out if Durham would accept me through clearing instead without rejecting as they have no phone line, only ‘apply through UCAS’

I think they may announce more details later today, last year they had a form to express interest on the morning of results day.
It would be quite unusual to only have an apply on UCAS option on results day because you can't apply directly on UCAS until 1pm whereas other unis will be open from 8am giving out offers.
