Need good high paying career paths that my south asian parents approve of not med/den

And don't tell me to do what my heart desires cuz I don't rlly want that type of advice
I don't want to do medicine just because it just doesn't interest me like i want it to, and i feel it will be tooo stressful, i also hate the idea of studying for the rest of your life, and my mom is a doctor so I've seen how life is like as a doctor and I don't like the look of it because you basically have weird hours and it seems very stressful, i don't want to miss out on life and basically give myself fully to a degree like that, and dentistry is out of the options cuz i don't like working with teeth and its just not for me,
pharmacy was something that i really considered but after doing a buttload of research i found out its toooo oversaturated and it doesnt pay well,
now im not good at math and i would not like to work with math in my day to day life (i got a b in igcse maths) and physics at a levels was wayyy too much math so i dropped it(i got an A* in igcse physics) im good at bio, chem and psychology in my opinion(i do all three at a level and will get my predicted grades in a few days but i deff will get aaa maybe even more who knows)
i also like studying disorders and stuff or finding cures and stuff for diseases like cancer but mainly brain related diseases
give me some good south asian approved careers that pay well and have good job security( typically where i might live in the future which is probably dubai,uk or pakistan)

here are some careers i have thought of but im not sure of:
neuroscience(i hate how there are not much career options after and im not sure i would like to do teaching)
optometry(it seems promising in fact many of my friends dropped the idea of medicine for it)
yea idk anymore
vet med(i reallllyyyyy loveeee animals soo much but im afraid there wont be much job opportunities in the countries i may live in )

Hi, I understand you’re in a very awkward situation. As you mentioned above pharmacy is very saturated however can and does still pay well when comparing it to other courses but if you’d want to feel more safe optom is a great option pays well however is slowly become like pharmacy very saturated. If vet med is your passion go for it maybe research where you want to live and see if it pays well there if not this is a bit of a niche one but look into Cardiac physiology pays great if your willing to go locum or private good progression and it’s interesting. Hope this helps if you have any questions please ask

Hey,
Have a look at Orthoptics. It's a great job if you don't mind where you work initially.

i mean all the options you and other people listed make sense, you might want to consider studying a pure science like biology, biochemistry etc, and then a masters in a more specialised area to go into research in places like francis crick institute, or at universities, which you did mention. researchers are pretty well respected, although the pay isn’t so good.

for pay optometry is probably the best

How about Psycologist?

Hey lovely so sorry you going through all of that .As someone from asian family myself I completely get what you mean as oldest daughter from immigrant asian parents I always knew I don't have the security to go pursue my dreams and fail (I always wanted to be a writer -unfortunately this not seen as the best career in my family and socially doesn't guarenty income )but I always wanted to pursue something in medical field.Initially I did stated out as doctor in mind during gcses but after shadowing and lot of research I ended up in conclusion that unfortunately I am not ready to dedicate my whole life into it so I started looking into other allied health professions and they areso many options like physiotherapy ,occupational therapy ,speech and language therapist ,midwifery ,radiography etc .after a lot of research and thoughts I went with diagnostic radiography .i graduated last year and been working almost year now .i would say it has its bad days but I do genuinely love my job as its hard at the start as it includes a lot of anatomy etc but compared med nothing also physics part only one module and basic its easily passable if you study .Radiography its good in a sense that you work with patients and technology but as its fast paces don't stay much with pt you get rotate in different places everyday like ,general x-ray ,a and e x-ray ,theatres etc .there also good progression prospects you can specialise into ct ,MRI ,sonography etc .do your research into it and let me know if any questions or need any help .butt just extra piece of advice as older sister if you do have the chance to go and pursue what you like go for it because if you want a job and pursue degree you always can but going for what you want and regretting what if it worked out is something you always will regret lol.i sometimes think what if I have gone for it worked and if did not find anything could then persued this don't get me wrong I still can if I want to but I feel I love my job more now .but sometimes I see some masters students doing radiography who had gone persued their dream had enough foun was not for them then started this degree but did anyone regret it most not .
