Music personal statement

I'm applying for Music college/conservatoire's and am currently writing my personal statement. I'm stuck on question 2 as I don't know how to talk about maths and physics (my other two a levels) in a way that will benefit my application.
Help pls 😭😭😭

Hey, I know I'm the one that advised this but if the subjects aren't related or are only tenuously related, then you don't have to try and link them! :nah:

You can talk about perseverance, ability to stick to a method, to understand key points and the foundation of concepts! Try linking that to Music, and how that may help you to improve on your skills. It doesn’t have to directly link to the subject, but more about strengthening you as a person and your skills and how you adapt using those skills.

1. Music is heavily linked to maths.
2. Think about what transferable skills you've gained from physics and how they link to music. Is there anything that was surprisingly linked to music more than you thought, or captivated you to explore into something deeper?

Hi there!

I hope you are doing well! I completely understand your situation I was in a similar one when i was applying to music courses as I too studied Mathematics. There is surprisingly a lot of links between Maths and Music, such as rhythm/counting, balancing out musical rhythms, sequences. There are a few books available online that can further confirm this.

There are also a lot of extra valuable skills such as perseverance, consistency and dedication, that can be beneficial and worth noting in your personal statement.

Hope this helps!
