Loch eil outward bound trust

I have never been camping before and the most outdoor activity I’ve done is swimming or walking.

So we are going soon it’s a school trip for a week. But like does anyone have some tips for me? Like what to pack, what to expect etc etc.

Also is the food decent? Is the trip really fun or nah? Also what are the dorms like?

That's up in the Fort William area loch eil.

Camping is absolutely fun especially if you haven't done it before.

Make sure you pack sensible clothing incase of bad weather.
Decent footwear is another key thing. Hiking boots incase climbing up hills/ mountains.

Depends on what you mean with food as generally when camping in tents etc you usually cook your meals onsite unless the group organiser has said that they are taking yous to nearby towns/ villages for something to eat.

You mentioned staying in dorms which means you will hopefully have facilities to wash and shower in rather than staying in tents. Dorms are fine as long as the others are behaving themselves but you can have fun still.

I have done camping up in the Highlands around Fort William and loch Ness heading to Inverness and it was good fun especially in a tent ⛺. Cooked meals outside the tent few times but generally got a decent meal in fort William and Inverness itself.
I camped in loch Lomond area as well which is absolutely amazing as it is only a hour from where I'm.

Omg you’re gonna have such a great time!! 🏕️ Definitely pack layers — mornings and nights can be cold even if the day is warm. A good flashlight or headlamp is a must, and don’t forget a power bank. Snacks are lifesavers too! As for food, it really depends on the place, but usually it’s simple and filling. Just go with an open mind — camping can be so much fun, especially with friends 💚
