Well paying careers in chemistry

What jobs pay well that mainly involve chemistry outside of the medical field
I was considering chemical engineering but I’ve heard from others that the pay isn’t worth the amount of years you study

You are not going to earn oodles of cash straight out of University - all professional jobs are about building a career, gaining experience, and 'moving on up'. Those in any well-paid field related to Chem will be talented people who put in the hard yards.

A science degree provides a route in to many different professions and management roles and here your ultimate salary depends on your ability to get results and probably to manage people. You could become the head of a significant department or even the chief executive.

Roles where you would use your chemical engineering skills specifically will like be technical function in research and development, projects implementation or management. Again it’s about your ability to get results, rather than the degree itself, that influence your earning potential. If you have the ability and entrepreneurial ability to exploit a niche and set up your own consultancy you can also be pretty wealthy.

Aside from some degrees where the career path and salary is fairly well understood, the degree is not so relevant, it’s about your ability to get on with a degree.

Both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are respected degrees. Go for the one that appeals the most

Chemical engineering isn't really chemistry . And it is absolutely worth it if you're up to to it.
Generally, chemistry doesn't pay too well, so i wouldn't pick it for money.

Although, one job that does pay handsomely using chemistry knowledge is IP Law
