How important is Russell group uni??

I really need as objective an answer as possible. I get very good grades. Not to sound cocky but I'm more than capable of getting into oxbridge. But I don't want to move out. Because of this, I'm extremely limited as to what I can apply for. If I were to go just to some basic uni near my town, how badly would what affect my future??

Life is what you make it.

I'm not sure what you mean by a basic university but certain universities on your CV/application will give you initial access to higher paid jobs, which can set you on the right trajectory, although nothing is guaranteed.

I would aim high. If you can get into Oxbridge, apply and see if you get an offer but also apply locally. That way, you can decide based upon actual offers.

Good luck

A lot depends on what degree you intend to take and what job you intend looking for. Obviously, there are certain universities that are targeted for certain jobs.

As regards Oxbridge just be aware that no-one is guaranteed on getting a place. Pretty much everyone who applies will have the grades so it comes down to your PS, any tests/exams you have to take and how you come over in the interview. You could have A*A*A*A*A* but if you are not what they're looking for then you ain't getting in.
