Well done on your offer to the university, and accommodation offer! I lived in Talybont in first year and really enjoyed it :biggrin:

Though, I would say be careful about sharing your flat details on TSR for safety reasons! If you wanted to find your flatmates, I recommend looking through the Offer Holders Facebook Group that was most likely emailed to you :smile:

Hi!

Yes just to confirm in most cases, you'll get your accomodation confirmation after results day. If it helps, I got mine two days after my results day, although this was back in 2021 :smile:

I've firmed Cardiff for Law but didn't know we had to apply for accommodation by the 25th July (guaranteed) - how do I proceed? I've contacted the residences email

Hi there,

It's good at you emailed the residences contact, they'd be able to best advice you on what might happen next depending on your personal situation.

If you wanted an idea of the next steps, the university advises that:

If your online application is received after the deadline or you receive/accept an unconditional offer to study after Friday 29 August 2025, we will do our best to accommodate you, and your application will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Unfortunately though, it is unlikely that you will be able to access your accomodation application portal until after results day. This is because due to the embargo periods for both Scottish and A Level results, UCAS applicants will not be able to apply online. All this info is found on the 'Apply for undergraduate and exchange student accommodation' webpage, in case you wanted to give it a read.

So yes, you've basically done all you can do for now, and my best advice is just to wait and see what the Residences Team says :smile:

Hi, I have received a room offer for talybont north en-suite normal sized (not small or medium, mine is bigger) and am looking to swap rooms with someone at either court or gate. Please lmk if u would be interested. Thanks

Congratulations on confirming your place here at Cardiff! Sorry you did not get your top choice, I would contact the Residences Team, [email protected] to see what they can do to help. You can connect with other students who have been allocated Talybont North here! But if you are not able to swap, please don't worry, you will find great people wherever you go, I recommend joining societies as well if you want to meet lots of different people!
