How important is your teacher training provider and placement school for your career?

I'm due to start my QTS and PGCSE in Geography in September. So far everything has been fine and I went earlier today for an induction with my placement school.

With that said, I am starting to have second thoughts about my training provider. Although they are quite well-known and take on a lot of trainees each year, this provider is not acredited by any university and a friend I was speaking to said that they thought I should have done it with one that was (for example a training provider with UCL accreditation) as it could impact my career in the future.

In addition to this, the school where I'm doing my training doesn't have the best academics due to low literacy rates and having a lot of SEND pupils (even though it is highly likely they'll be able to give me a job at the end of my training if I want one) and I'm also concerned about how this would look if in the future I wanted to apply to work at another school with higher standards.

I'm open and interested in hearing people's views on this.

Doesn’t matter. If anything you will be a better teacher for working at this type of school.
